Yinqi Wang makes the following observations about his poem,

‘As a matter of fact, I have never read about Flowers of Evil, and known little about Baudelaire. The sentence “恶之花,恶之花,波德莱尔的恶之花” jumped out of my mouth one day and I happened to have an impulse to make it into a poem. In the name of the Muses of the poetry, I hope Baudelaire won’t be mad at me for the appropriation. And I wish him all well in his after life.’

Wang Yinqi is a Junior student majoring Humanities at NYU Shanghai. He enjoys reading Nietzsche, Greek Mythology, Bible, Dostoevsky, etc. Writing poems is new to him. But he finds a unique sense of delicacy and freedom during the compilations of the words/characters. With a slight disdain of the Now and a gentle appreciation of the Past, he expects, with little hope, some difference in the future. He’s uncertain about academia, wants to fully experience his life, and dies in peace.
